Till Death by Jennifer L Armentrout

Wooo!!! 8 million cheers for Jennifer Armentrout’s latest release, TILL DEATH!

In New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s gripping new novel, a young woman comes home to reclaim her life—even as a murderer plots to end it. . .

It’s been ten years since Sasha Keaton left her West Virginia hometown . . . since she escaped the twisted serial killer known as the Groom. Returning to help run her family inn means being whole again, except for one missing piece. The piece that falls into place when Sasha’s threatened—and FBI agent Cole Landis vows to protect her the way he couldn’t a decade ago.

First one woman disappears; then another, and all the while, disturbing calling cards are left for the sole survivor of the Groom’s reign of terror. Cole’s never forgiven himself for not being there when Sasha was taken, but he intends to make up for it now . . . because under the quirky sexiness Cole first fell for is a steely strength that only makes him love Sasha more.

But someone is watching. Waiting. And Sasha’s first mistake could be her last.

Growing up I loved novels full of mystery- the kind that would keep me up all night scared- and written by the likes of Stephen King or Dean Koontz. The older I got, the more I fell in love with romance. Of course, this is how I was introduced to the amazing Jennifer Armentrout!
And now, with Till Death, she’s two genres that built my reading foundation and combined them into one sexy, creepy, perfect novel.

Now, don’t turn away because you’re concerned it will be too scary- while yeah, it’s got chill factor this one is a through and through love story. Just maybe don’t read it at 2 am when you’re home alone and can’t sleep like I did.

Sasha is instantly likable and relatable. You feel for her, with her, from page one and that emotion doesn’t end.

Cole is every bit the leading man you dream of. Sensitive. Compassionate. Fiercely protective. And hot. As. Hell! I could not get enough of him!

You won’t be able to stop turning the page with Jennifer’s newest release!! Go get your copy now… suspense fan, romance fan.. this one is a book for everyone!

Jennifer L Armentrout’s The Return

OMG You Guys! You Guys!!! Seth is back and better than ever!!

In the Covenant Series, I’ll admit, I was a little wishy washy about Seth. I could never decide if I loved him or hated him. I guess it was a little bit of both. So when Jennifer Armentrout released this book, I jumped on the opportunity to to read more about Seth. And can I just say from the title page, I’m already in love.

“[The Return] contains a sexy, sexy, hot guy with mad skillz that will be described in swoon-inducing detail. “

That is first sentence of the disclaimer in the novel and if it doesn’t have the power to make you squeal in excitement of what’s to come… well, I seriously question you. From this point, before even reaching the first page, I knew I would love Seth. There would be no more wishy-washy, flipy-floppy feeling about the Apollyon. And when I started the first page, I was immediately giddier than a toddler in Disney World.

Seth is still Seth. He’s just as deadly and dangerous as you remember, but a lot more sexy to go along with it.

“He’d said my name like I was the monster under his bed, and I sort of liked that.”

His sense of humor and smartassed nature is still firmly intact too. And thank goodness because he simply would not be Seth is he wasn’t a total smartass, especially when confronting annoying people… or gods.

“The Sentinels in the room stared at me like I’d just pulled down my pants and shaken my junk in their faces.”

Who can argue with quotes like these?

But Seth isn’t just deadly, sarcastic, witty, full of interesting descriptions.  We get to see a softer side of Seth, one where we didn’t have to question his motivations for kind or caring acts. Getting into his head creates a connection with the character I never had before and one can’t help but feel for him. The life he’s living, as a slave to the gods is nothing stellar. The guilt he carries is palpable and still bears down on him. Though we caught glimpses in the Covenant Series, it seems as though in The Return we are actually getting to see the real Seth and not just the Apollyon.

Josephine is a girl after my own heart.

“I preferred to lollygag on an elliptical machine. Screw that hard, running- outside crap – that required effort.”

Honestly, its as if she took the words right from my mouth. The character is wonderful and is quickly becoming one of my favorite book heroines. She’s has realistic reactions – that’s one of the things that I so love about Jennifer Armentrout, even in unreal circumstances, the characters are as real as you and I. And they may freak out at life changing news, or they may not, but it never seems unreal. Josephine has a quiet sort of strength as she adjusts to knowledge that Greek gods are real as are Titans and the rest of the freaky shit from Greek Mythology.

Speaking of gods… Apollo is back too. – Does any more have to be said about that? Because the words “Apollo is back” should really communicate everything you need to know and expect. Apollo. The pain in the ass. The helpful. The sarcastic. The angry. He’s all here, along with a couple other favorites from the Covenant Series.

The story is quick paced and not boring for even a second. In fact it’s so exciting that I had to stop reading every few chapters for a couple minutes because I could just feel my blood pressure rising as I anxiously read every word. Yet, even with forced breaks between chapters, this book was still finished in a day. It’s impossible to drag it out to long because seriously, you’ll just want more and more Seth!

Chosen Thief – Scarlett Dawn

It’s RELEASE DAY y’all!! And this is one release you do not want to miss out on!

I am so excited to share with you the fourth installment in Scarlett Dawn’s Forever Evermore Series, and Caro’s first book, Chosen Thief!

Chosen Thief_Finals1920

Amazon – Barnes & Noble – Google Play

The second saga in the bestselling, groundbreaking Forever Evermore series begins with Chosen Thief, where the life of a skilled lawbreaker becomes much more than she ever wanted…

Caroline Jules knows death is imminent. She’s only 22, but as an inmate of Death Row in the most secure Mystical jail, what else could her future hold?

Caro has no idea. Her solitary, transient life is about to get flipped on its head when it is revealed that she is the new Prodigy Elemental, and she has responsibilities and ties that she can’t ever escape. Caro is attempting to run from a brutal past, but the Rulers have other plans for this thief’s future.

But the transition from a self-contained existence to life with the other Prodigies, the Kings and Queens, and even the Elders was never going to be easy, and Caro has secrets she’s loath to share. Suddenly she has friends, mentors, lovers — and they all want to know more about her than she is willing to reveal.

Will Caro ever escape the darkness of all she is, or will she fall deeper into the life that has been chosen for her?

That’s a good kind of wow, in case there was any confusion.
Now, as super fan of the Forever Evermore series thus far, and specifically of Ezra, I was a little concerned what the second saga would bring. I needn’t be. Chosen Thief was nothing short of spellbinding. From the first page, we dive right into action as we meet Caro and are suddenly filled with questions about the mysterious new girl. It’s impossible to put down. IMPOSSIBLE.

For me, it took a few chapters to warm up to Caro. She’s a bit more rough around the edges to start with and a lot less trusting. But it wasn’t long before I fell for the character. She’s bitchy, sarcastic, witty, and funny. But she’s also incredibly loyal and caring. Caro is the kind of girl that you want to be on your side in a fight. And if she’s not your side, you should be freaking terrified.

Sin… oh Sin… It did not take long at all for Sin to join the ranks amongst the best of the book boyfriends. His relationship with Caro may be a bit… vague, but their love for one another is obvious. It’s hard not to love the criminal bad boy when you witness his caring, gentle nature toward those he loves. And it’s even harder when you get a glimpse of his sense of humor. It’s a tad wicked, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The rest of the young Prodigies have unique personalities that I cannot wait to see more of. Aria, Brann and London don’t play a huge role in this installment, but I have a feeling, as they’re the prodigies, they will shine more brightly later in the series. And I am thrilled because the characters we get to meet here are wonderful.

And of course… our old favorites. Jack, Pearl, Lily, and Ezra (and maybe even a couple Elders we know and love) show up in the story and… they’re priceless really. And comical. And perfect.

If you’re a fan of the Forever Evermore series, Caro’s story will only fuel your love for an already enthralling series.

The Prelude to Ella & Micha – Jessica Sorensen

Some stories are so beautiful you never want to stop reading them, the story of Ella & Micha is one of those for me. Jessica Sorensen could continue to write their story until the characters are well into their nineties and I would still eat up every word.

Naturally, I was thrilled when it was announced that there would be a prequel to Ella & Micha. I mean, who the heck wouldn’t be. If you’ve followed the series then you’ve experienced the giddiness of love and the pain of heartache right alongside the characters that have earned a permanent place in my heart.

The Prelude of Ella and Micha had to it a certain amount of innocence we have yet to see from these characters, something I frankly couldn’t get enough of. There’s just the right amount of flirtation and innocence between the characters as they begin to realize their feelings for one another.

“You’re such an ass,” I call out after him. “I don’t like that you were looking. At all.” The butterflies in my stomach reveal differently, though.

But of course, it wouldn’t be written by Jessica Sorensen if it didn’t leave you in tears. This is no exception. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a sobbing mess by the end. Really, I needed to continue to the next book to remind myself that there’s more! It’s not over yet!

Making readers cry must be a sort of sadistic pleasure of Mrs. Sorensen, because so does it so gosh darn well and in every novel (or maybe it says something of me as a reader since I keep coming back for more). Also, she does it perfectly and I wouldn’t love reading her work as much as I do if it didn’t elicit such strong emotion andI didn’t get so connected to the main characters.

All in all, you will absolutely not be disappointed in this prequel. It is lovely and perfect and heartbreaking all at once. If you’ve enjoyed the rest of the series, you must pick this one up… if you haven’t gotten around to it yet–well, what are you waiting for? Go! Now! Start the series and fall in love in the same way I did.

Souls [Grimnirs Book 2] – Ednah Walters

WARNING: This is CORA’S story: This book may be considered NA (new adult) because it contains some swearing, violence and sex scenes: Suitable for ages 17 and up. A Clean Version will also be available on Amazon.

Cora Jemison knows what it’s like to date a soul reaper. There are no Friday
night movies, no school dances, and no stolen kisses between classes. It
totally sucks! What makes it even worse, souls pop up when she least expects
it. The last one is not her fault, but it all adds up to zero quality time with
her super hot, scythe-carrying boyfriend, Echo.
Since Cora was
etched with special runes by an evil Immortal, she understands why souls are
drawn to her. She makes the best of it by helping souls find closure while Echo
escorts them to the realm of the dead. Perfect partners, until a dark soul
visits Cora in the dead of the night and Echo decides her soul-helping days are
Cora can either
listen to Echo or follow her instincts. To make matters worse, other reapers
start stalking her, demanding she hand over the soul. Even her Valkyrie friends
think she’s gone too far. But something sinister is coming their way, and the
soul is the key to saving her town, her friends, and her relationship with
Echo. Can she convince Echo to see things her way before it’s too late?

I cannot get over how beautiful this cover is.
Seriously this series (and the Runes series) has the best covers… ever!

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for a review and I cannot say enough how excited I was when this ARC arrived in my inbox. I mean, there was definite squealage! I had already refreshed myself on the prior books so nothing stopped me from cracking this baby open right away!

If this is not your reaction to starting Souls… then you are WRONG- no ifs, ands, or buts about it- you are just wrong.

The book begins shortly after Seeress ends and things aren’t going too bad for Cora. She’s an immortal now and training with Lavania and Raine, she’s got a super hot – super hot – Grimnir boyfriend and her dealings with souls are going well. At least they are until she the feels a darker presence in her room… but souls shouldn’t be allowed to enter her room. This one is more clever than the rest… he’s also a dark soul.
Let’s just say Echo is super pissed when he finds out.
Dark souls are scary shit you guys.
Scary shit!
Turns out this one happens to be an old friend of Echo’s – back from his mortal days – and they didn’t exactly part ways on good terms all those years ago. Dev – the dark soul and Echo’s old BFF – wants Cora’s help. And she decides, much to the chagrin of Echo that she is going to help Dev out.
That’s as much as of the plot as I’m going to give away… but know this: it get’s crazy good.

You guys…
You Guys…
Echo is Back!

Echo is… Perfection. I love him more and more every time we get to see him. He opens up more and more to Cora and you can tell he’s really trying- even though he doesn’t like that she helps out the souls and he really doesn’t like that she wants to help a dark soul. He respects her. I just wish there were more of him.. I never get enough of Ednah Walters’ leading men. Like… ever. (And I really love any and all interaction between Torin and Echo, it’s just too entertaining)

We have a few other new characters too, including Dev. I love him. He’s got spirit… hehe… get it? Because he’s a soul? He’s does though. He has a bit of a snarky attitude and he’s flirty, and simply impossible not to like.
We get to meet a few new Grimnirs – some of Echo’s old friends – and I’m intrigued by each and every one of them. I want them ALL to get their own books and stories. I need to know everything about Rhys and Nara and Syn… I NEED THIS! (Miss Walters, if you read this… just know that this girl would love for you write about pretty much every single secondary character you’ve ever introduced.)

My only complaint is that while the book was so exciting and kept me on the edge, the ending seemed a little abrupt… I was left with a few questions; hopefully they’ll get answered in future books. I mean we know we get at least one more with Raine and Torin (Witches) and then eventually we’ll get Eiriks story too, so hopefully any questions we have left at the end of this novel will be answered soon.

I loved this book so much! You have to go read it! It’s a must! If you keep scrolling, you’ll find the Amazon buy link, so do yourself a favor and go purchase your copy right now!

The Resolution of Callie & Kayden *REVIEW*

Ok… I lied… there was no way- no way- I could wait until Friday to post this. I’m too excited!

                                                                                         Here’s the official blurp:
Things are going good for Callie and Kayden. They’re still dealing with their past and the pain connected to it, but for the most part they’ve moved on. The biggest decision they have at the moment is what they want to do with their lives in the future.

Eventually, though, the past catches up with them and it leaves them with a choice no one wants to make. But Callie and Kayden learn that as long as they have each other, they can make it through just about anything. And in the end, they discover what they really want out of life.

I don’t think I’ve missed a single book by Jessica Sorensen, she’s one of those that the moment I hear about a new book, I have to read it. HAVE TO. This one, The Resolution of Callie & Kayden, was a whole new level of excitement though.

It might be unhealthy how invested in the lives and romance of Callie and Kayden I really am.
But honestly, do you blame me? It’s impossible not to fall hard and fast for characters written by Jessica Sorensen. She’s creates characters that are so perfectly flawed and real that I feel as connected to them as I do to some my friends. Her characters pop off the page and haunt my memories for day–ok weeks, months… maybe even years- after I’ve finished reading.

Callie and Kayden’s story drew me in from the moment the tiny girl with butchered hair and baggy clothes stepped in and stood up for the big, football player even though she was terrified. With each book that tells their story I grow more connected, more invested, and more in love with these characters.
And this final installment, this resolution if you will, made my heart sing and soul soar. Yes, it was just that flawless. It was perfection. Like, I can’t even say anything else. It was everything I ever hoped and dreamed it would be.

So I’ll just leave you with what is my favorite quote from the novel and let you swoon over while you let the page load so that you can buy your own copy.
“Is it possible to fall in love with someone even when you’re already in love with them? Because I’m pretty sure I just did.”
I’ll say it again… swoon.

(In case you don’t feel like scrolling all the way down to my “release day post” that I put up this morning, I’ve put all the author info, playlists, and buy links up again in this post

Right Kind Of Wrong – Chelsea Fine

I was so excited when Amazon’s email alerted me that this book had been delivered to my Kindle! I mean, probably too excited- at least according to my husband. (But I know there is no such thing as being too excited for a book. Preposterous!)

So here the blurb for The Right Kind of Wrong by Chelsea Fine:
Jenna Lacombe needs complete control, whether it’s in the streets . . . or between the sheets. So when she sets out on a solo road trip to visit her family in New Orleans, she’s beyond annoyed that the infuriatingly sexy Jack Oliver wants to hitch a ride with her. Ever since they shared a wild night together last year, he’s been trying to strip away her defenses one by one. He claims he’s just coming along to keep her safe-but what’s not safe for her is prolonged exposure to the tattooed hottie.

Jack can’t get Jenna out from under his skin. She makes him feel alive again after his old life nearly destroyed him-and losing her is not an option. Now Jack’s troubles are catching up to him, and he’s forced to return to his hometown in Louisiana. But when his secrets put them both in harm’s way, Jenna will have to figure out how far she’s willing to let love in . . . and how much she already has.

Don’t you just already love it? Like from the description alone, I’m already in love. Seriously, I saw that Jenna was getting her own story and I may have squealed. I love Jenna. She is, like, the best friend I always wanted. She’s badass, honest and always gives good advice. She’s an excellent friend. And she’s super cool! Like I wish she was real and in my life. We would be SuperBFFLS forevah! (Yep, that even required the stupid spelling of “forever”)

Jenna is a wonderful character. I absolutely loved getting to know her. She’s cautious in love and so she resists her connection with Jack, but it’s there. She has daddy issues… well, I guess maybe they’re mommy issues because she’s worried she’ll turn out like her mom and never achieve her dreams if she falls in love. But that doesn’t mean she can stop herself from falling in love.

Enter Jack Oliver.

Tattooed, tall and sexy as sin. He’s sweet and charming and always knows the right thing to say it seems. Jenna and he have been close for a while now, and when the novel begins they’ve hooked up once in the past. Jenna ignores the issue, but Jack doesn’t want to. He knows what he’s feeling for Jenna and he’s made up his mind that he freaking wants her.
Jenna is planning to leave town and drive home to New Orleans to visit her grandmother who is convinced she’s dying. Jack receives a phone call at the same time that his brother is in trouble and he needs to get home right away. So he weasels his way into Jenna’s car and on her road trip.
Jack has a mysterious past though, and Jenna soon finds out that the carefree, happy go lucky personality she’s always attributed to Jack might not be the only side to him. No, there’s a much darker side that she begins to discover when they take a road trip back home to Louisiana together.

I fell for Jack. He’s sweet and charming. He’s a protector. He cares about his family. He would do anything for the people he loves. He is the kind of guy every girl wants. Oh and it doesn’t hurt that he’s super, super delicious.

For reals y’all this is not a story to miss! It’s a wonderful mixture of humor, drama, romance and action. It will keep you on the edge or your seat wondering what happens next and it will make you swoon in envy of some of the romantic things. Chelsea Fine has a true, true gift. I will forever read any and everything that she writes and you should too!
