Where there is light, there is dark.
The two halves make a whole…
Or do they constantly battle for dominance?
Juliet Julius has watched her daughter, Kenna, grow into a fierce young woman. She has protected her. She has guarded her. She has sacrificed all she had to give. And she tried her hardest to keep her from the Dark.
But now it’s Juliet’s turn.
Her social life is no longer on hold.
Juliet can shimmy her hips whenever she wants.
But it’s too bad those hips attract so much attention. Juliet might just have a sinister problem of her own. In the form of one hell of an alpha male who wants nothing more than to destroy her…and to sensually devour her body.

(I received and eARC of this novella in exchange for an honest review)
Let me just go ahead and say it, if you loved Blood Tree Part 1, you will go absolutely head over heels for Blood Tree Part 2. Juliet, as we discovered in Part 1 of this little series, is a fierce, protective, mama bear all the way and you can’t help but love her that. But in Blood Tree Part 2, we find out that she is so much more than just Kenna’s mother. Juliet is fun and sexy and full of life. More than that we find out she has a past of her own, full of secrets and heartache and one sexy elf. In Blood Tree Part 2, we find out what happens when Juliet’s past catches up with her and man, oh, man, is it worth the read. You do not want to miss Juliet’s tale!
Bear shifter Cole Maddox is used to getting everything he wants, especially when it comes to women. When members of sleuth start to have problems with their shifting abilities, the elders start to pressure him to find his mate to solidify his alpha line.
But when he meets Avery Rogers his attention shifts to the quiet new girl on the block. Only one problem, she’s not a shifter and he doesn’t know it. Yet.

When I first noticed this book, I was excited for something new and interesting. I don’t read much in the way of shifter novels (or in this case, novellas) and I hadn’t before read anything from Terra Wolf. So I anxiously cracked open this novella to kick off The Pure Blood series. Unfortunately, it didn’t really live up to my hopes.
Avery comes off as an intelligent enough lead. She’s someone readers are meant to connect with and like, but that didn’t really happen for me. Perhaps it’s because the pages were limited, but I just wasn’t as invested in Avery’s story as I wanted to be. She also seemed really focused on money, how much money she makes or someone else makes was brought up more than once and it just struck me as a little odd because aside from knowing that Cole is wealthy, it didn’t seem necessary to the story at all.I had the same issues with Cole, our sexy bear shifter, who was, in fact sexy. However, Cole seemed to spend a lot of his word count talking and thinking about what a ladies man he is… it was a little bit of a turn off for me.
Overall, it was a quick, fun read. It had a couple laughs and some sexy moments. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I thought the writing had a nice flow and seemed natural, so I’m interested to read more from the author.
I’ll definitely be giving the series and Terra Wolf’s writing another chance by picking up the next in the series to find out where the story goes.
