BAM! I still cannot get over how much I love, love, LOVE this cover!
And if you love it to then you should know this is one instant where you can judge a book by its cover, because this book is every bit as awesome as that cover!
Have you read King Hall? Yes? Good! What about King Cave? Yes? Amazing! However, if you answered “No” to these questions I would advise you to take a a step back and seriously examine your life choices, because obviously, you’ve made some mistakes. And then you need to go to Amazon… or wherever it if you purchase books from and read these… then prepare yourself to read King Tomb! (Also, you probably don’t want to read this review until you’ve read the other books in the series) If you are a cool kid and you answered “Yes”, then I congratulate you on your successful path in life and encourage you to not deviate from that path by neglecting to read King Tomb.
Here is the Official King Tomb Blurb:
From Scarlett Dawn comes the stunning, sexy, sensual, surprising, spellbinding conclusion to the bestselling, first Forever Evermore trilogy. Queen Shifter, Lily Ruckler, has found solace in brutal warfare. Her bloodied fists and bared fangs fill the holes left in her memory, the blank spaces that leave her soul aching and empty. Her only pleasure is in blood; her only salvation is the relationship she has with her infant child, the baby of unknown origins who brings her solace and stability. When Elder Harcourt summons Lily and her protector Antonio back to the United States, Lily thinks nothing unusual about the change of location. But a standard reconnaissance mission leaves her trapped inside King Zeller’s private quarters, and at his mercy. Surprise attraction rapidly turns to a battle of wills and an intense power struggle that leaves no clear victor but plenty of resentment. They are not allowed to nurse their wounds. In order to win the war against the Commoners, the King Vampire and Queen Shifter must work together. It should be easy. The war is turning, the battle is deadly, and both Lily and Ezra love the cold cleanliness of combat. But their chance meeting has led to more than an unlikely alliance. Secrets have a way of surfacing, especially on a torn-up battlefield, and Lily and Ezra are about to re-learn all they cannot remember. If they can’t control their emotions and responses, it will be to their own ruin and the destruction of everything around them.
Bam! If that doesn’t get your attention, I don’t know what will.
King Tomb has shown itself to be the perfect mixture of humor, violence and sexiness! You will not be let down by the end of Lily Ruckler’s story!
I received the ARC of this book last month and cracked it open immediately and could not put it down. I spent all afternoon reading the book and may or may not have completely forgotten that dinner existed- my husband ended up ordering out because I could not be bothered. :] This book is 100% a page turner.
I know, here you might have the same reservations I did. What if the finale doesn’t live up to the story you’ve fallen in love with? Many an author (even some I love so much) have left me feeling heartbroken after a disappointing end to the series. Well, let me clear those worries up right now, because King Tomb does not disappoint!!
If you’ll recall, ** King Cave Spoiler Alert**, the four young kings and queens had their memories of each other erased and King Tomb picks up right where King Cave left off. We start in Australia where Lily has spent the last several months viscously battling the humans and sinking further into the cold, guarded queen as a direct result of having her memory erased. This… slaughtering of humans is going well for her, right up until the point where she get’s orders to move back to the states. More specifically to the camp run by Ezra and his father Cahal.
Ohhhhhhweeeee! The drama is great! Ezra and Lily get to meet each other for the first time (for a second time) is perfect! It wasn’t love at first sight the first time around and it certainly wasn’t love at first sight this time- though maybe there was a bit more lust at first sight. Like Lily, Ezra has turned into a scarier, more heartless version of himself – but don’t worry, we still get glimpses of our sweet, lovable Ezra and you will abso-freaking-lutely swoon at his interactions with the baby.
While there is plenty of Antonio and Cahal to make us all smile, I found myself missing Pearl and Jack. They didn’t make much of an appearance throughout this novel, and as someone who is a complete shipper of Pack (Jearl?) this was the only thing about King Tomb that made me sad. That said, I complete understand Scarlett Dawn’s decision to have them play more minor characters in this installment- it would have appeared a little chaotic to have them remerge together. But don’t worry we do see them.
Go preorder King Tomb now!!
You can read this bad boy on Oct 8 so mark your calendars now, because in less than a month you’ll be diving right back into the world of the Forever Evermore series!
(Please note that while I did say a couple times that this is the end, I was referring to Lily’s story. The Forever Evermore series WILL have more installments, they just won’t be focusing on Lily Ruckler. So take solace in knowing that while we much say goodbye to one beloved character, we do not have to say goodbye to the enchanted world that Scarlett Dawn has created for us :] You’ll want to keep an eye out for Chosen Thief which is Caro’s story — I know who the heck is Caro?! I’m excited to find out sometime in early 2015… I think hopefully we’ll a know a release date soon. You can add it on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22985522-chosen-thief )
