My Life With The Walter Boys

My Life With The Walter Boys is one of those books that I kept glance over and never actually reading. Simply put, I was a little skeptical about the plot and believability. I mean, a girl being shipped off to live with 12 boys seemed a little ridiculous. But then I gave the book a chance. I’m so glad I did.

I have fallen in love with Ali Novak and all her characters. (After reading this, I found her on wattpad and immediately read pretty much every single one of her unofficial/unpublished books- including the original draft of this book) She does such a good job, in my opinion of taking a somewhat outrageous plot and making it believable. Each of the boys is unique and has a their own quality and character to them.
I expected not to really get to know more than one or two of the Walter boys really well, but I ended the book feeling apart of the family. Ali Novak just did such a great job of submerging the reader into Jackie’s life.

This one also has a sequel that will eventually be published, so after you read it, keep a look out for the next installment in the life of the Walter boys.

AHHHHH It’s here! Are you ready to be blown away? Are you? Are you? Really?

Ok. Here it is!!!

Drumroll please……………..

Is that not such a freaking hot cover?

Let’s all be excited people! Less than 70 days and we’ll be reading this masterpiece! I know, I know, that seems so far away. But I promise you it’ll go by super fast. At least, I hope it will for all our sakes! I mean I know I cannot wait to see Lily completely kick ass, because we all know she’s going too. And obviously we’ll get plenty of the sexy Ezra- AKA my favorite vamp of all time, that’s right, he bumped Louis and Lestat right out of the top spot. And I also soooo miss every other character! And Ezra and Lily just have to fall in love again! THEY HAVE TO! Can you tell I’m excited!?

Ok so here’s the official blurb to go with it.

From Scarlett Dawn comes the stunning, sexy, sensual, surprising, spell-binding conclusion to the bestselling first Forever Evermore trilogy.

Queen Shifter, Lily Ruckler, has found solace in brutal warfare. Her bloodied fists and bared fangs fill the holes left in her memory, the blank spaces that leave her soul aching and empty. Her only pleasure is in blood; her only salvation is the relationship she has with her infant child, the baby of unknown origins who brings her solace and stability.

When Elder Harcourt summons Lily and her protector Antonio back to the United States, Lily thinks nothing unusual about the change of location. But a standard reconnaissance mission leaves her trapped inside King Zeller’s private quarters, and at his mercy. Surprise attraction rapidly turns to a battle of wills and an intense power struggle that leaves no clear victor but plenty of resentment.

They are not allowed to nurse their wounds. In order to win the war against the Commoners, the King Vampire and Queen Shifter must work together. It should be easy. The war is turning, the battle is deadly, and both Lily and Ezra love the cold cleanliness of combat. But their chance meeting has led to more than an unlikely alliance. Secrets have a way of surfacing, especially on a torn-up battlefield, and Lily and Ezra are about to re-learn all they cannot remember. If they can’t control their emotions and responses, it will be to their own ruin and the destruction of everything around them.

Fighting For Infinity

ffiCan I just start by saying how much I love Karen Amanda Hooper because I do. I really, really do. And that cover, Augh! I love it. This series honestly has my favorite covers ever, all three books just have such beautiful covers. LOVE THEM.

Ok, Fighting for Infinity. This book has soooo much happen. I’ll be the first to admit that I was a little nervous how it was all going to tie together nicely, but it did. It so, totally did. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so content with a series ending. It was beautiful and lovely and perfect and yes, I cried, but no, I would not have had it any other way.

Maryah is still a great character, I think she’s a little annoying sometimes in this book, but it’s understandable considering how frustrated she is with herself for hiding past life stuff from herself and everyone… does that make sense? Nathan is of course wonderful. He is in my top five book boyfriends of all time. Seriously, even just his name I love!

Rina, however, really stole the whole book, maybe even the whole series. She’s strong and heroic and beautiful and perfect. It was so easy to fall in love with this character. She really steals the show here and adds something new to the series.

I don’t want to say any more than that because it’s all complex and I refuse to give away and spoilers because this is one you want to read for yourselves!

But here is the official blurb:

Every moment, every lifetime, every decision—including her choice to erase—has led Maryah to this.

Two outcomes are possible: an infinite happy-ever-after with her kindrily or the final severing of her relationship with Nathan.

Closer to the enemy than ever before, Maryah unravels the diabolical plan that Dedrick has been manipulating into place for centuries. Revelations, secrets, and lies surface faster than Maryah can process. She doesn’t know who to trust, what to believe, or how to save her loved ones from the desolate future Dedrick is so close to executing.

Guided by an enigmatic raven-haired prisoner, Maryah fights body and soul to save Nathan, her kindrily, and countless others. But is her love strong enough to alter a prophecy written in the stars?

Fall [The Cold Mark Saga]

savagely wicked new adult sci-fi series blasts off with Fall, the first novella in The Cold Mark Saga…

Only one thousand Humans survived The Travel from the shattered Earth. Some Humans say it was their penance for crushing such beauty. Eighteen-year-old Braita merely thought it was pathetic – pathetic that her people had been that blind.

Now, the Humans live in the solar system, Kline, where three planets are habitable. Joyal, the smallest planet, is embraced by the Humans – their family to love as they had never loved Earth. Though a planet covered mainly in water is dangerous real estate to dwell upon.

Their worry turns into devastating reality when Braita’s blessed village is struck by a tsunami. Population numbers must be kept to a minimum. Drastic measures must be taken. Braita’s life is twisted in brutality when she is chosen as one of the three hundred Humans to be removed from Joyal…and sent to the Mian, the aliens to fear, on the planet Triaz.

Thrown head first into a barbaric world she knows nothing of, Braita must adapt to a dark life as a slave of the Mian society. Her existence depends on it…and possibly, the fall of her heart.

Fall Promo11.jpg

When I received my ARC of this novella, I was thrilled to say the least. After capturing my very soul in her Forever Evermore series, I’m down to read any and everything by Scarlett Dawn.
Even so, when I picked this copy up I couldn’t help but think with a frown that Ezra won’t be in it. Well, I thought that for about 2 seconds into the book at which point I thought Erza who?
Holy cheese and crackers Batman, this novella is Ah! Maze! Ing!
Scarlett Dawn creates a beautiful new world- new solar system- that pulls you in from the very first sentence and makes the story impossible to put down! (For real though, when I finished I was on such a book high- at 3 am- that I could not sleep)
Joyal is a beautiful world that is destroyed by it’s own elements, so when the human government begins evacuating a select number of people to the neighboring planets, Briata (awesome name btw) is sent to live with the Main- a terrifying, totally badass group of aliens.
Let me tell you, the from the moments before the Tsunami to the end of the novella my heart was racing and my stomach full of butterflies. Scarlett Dawn did such an amazing job of pulling me into this universe that I was on the edge of my seat, filled with nerves for Briata.
Ok, so I really loved Briata- Scarlett Dawn has a habit of creating kick ass, yet still relatable heroines that you can’t help but root for. I love the language barrier she presents and that the character is so obviously not perfect- hence calling the scary group of Aliens cows by mistake.
Jax is a really great character. I hope we get to see a lot more of him, because the friendship between him and Briata is perfect. They are a team.
Malik and Leo. So, typically I’m not into the extremely violent type, but something about these two is just so endearing. (I think Malik might be my favorite… is that ok? Am I allowed to love one just a little bit more?) The deal with these two is that though they are part of a violent and ruthless race that thrives on war, they can also be so gentle and caring and even a bit humorous.
My single complaint? That the next part of the saga isn’t out yet! Seriously the ending will blow you away and leave you begging for more that sadly is not yet available. I mean, wow. This novella was seriously, seriously good. Seriously. Did I get across how serious I am about loving this new story? Good! Because I do.

Ok, so now you’ve made the decision that you NEED to read this, because honestly, you do.

Young woman lost in spooky dirty corridor.

Finding Ever After

This cover! Am I right? I totally love it!

Stephanie Hoffman McManus has written a wonderful love story with Finding Ever After. Jaxyn, our MC is a wonderful voice who’s had a hard time and is finally coming back to town after a few years away. She reconnects with an estranged brother, the friends she abandoned and manages to find herself in some of the same old trouble.

She also meets Kayden. He’s a wonderful, sexy character. The two have amazing tension and chemistry from the start. I’ll warn you that it does seem a little on the insta-lovey side of the things, so if you really hate that this may not be the book for you. But if you can get over that Jaxyn falls for Kayden hard and fast the story is a wonderful combination of love, stress and drama. I could not put it down and ended up reading to finish late into the night. This is definitely worth the read.

So. I’ve been horrible and abandoned this for about a month. Shame on me.
I have a sort of excusable excuse I believe.
I’ve been working a lot on my own writing.

I would actually love love love love you forever if you wanted to swing by my wattpad page and read some of what I’ve written. I have three ongoing stories right now.

Ok, so now, shameless plug aside, here’s what I’ve got coming up in the near future!

Scarlett Dawn!
I’ve got a couple things coming up with this amazing author!
The first thing to look out for is the awesome cover reveal for King Tomb. Let me just say this will knock your freaking socks off! As if I wasn’t excited enough already for this book, I saw the cover and thought I was going to faint of excitement!
Second, I have received my ARC of Fall, her newest Novella will be released on August 5! I’ll be letting you know just how awesome it is very soon!

Ok, I’ve also got a heck of a lot of books to review. I’m going to try to stick to a goal of posting 2 a week. Maybe one on a busy week, but there will definitely be a weekly post.

That’s all for now! Look for another post by Tuesday!
